The Arab of the Future tells the story of Riad Sattouf's childhood in the Middle East. This third volume sees him between the ages of six and nine, the time he becomes aware of the society he is growing up in.

Ein sehr gelungener erster Band. Die Manga-Adaptation wird dem Buch auf jeden Fall gerecht.
Stellt euch vor, alles was ihr kennt ist ein Waisenhaus und eine liebende "Mutter". Dann jedoch stellt sich heraus, dass jene Mutter euch an außerirdische Wesen verkauft, damit diese in den Genuss eures Kinderhirns kommen, und dies unter der Lüge der Adoption versteckt!
